Cheers to ACES
Our Cheers digest is a fluid space (see what we did there) to share new wines, beers or spirits, but to also share photos of people enjoying a cheer or two in our city.
This week, we say “Cheers” to the Association of Chief Executives in Sport or ACES as they are known in the Sports Events Industry. This prestigious group representing USA Olympic Governing Bodies such as USA Basketball, USA Swimming, USA Track & Field, to name a few, held their winter meetings this week hosted by the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission.
The group enjoyed accommodations and met at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Downtown Cincinnati. On Wednesday, Cincinnati Reds Executive Karen Forgus shared her thoughts on why Cincinnati is a great host city for sporting events and later the group was treated to dinner at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse.
“Our goal was to showcase Cincinnati to this important group of sports events executives representing our USA Olympic Sports to invite them to consider hosting a trial or exhibition in our city,” said Leslie Spencer, executive director of the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission who led the successful bid to host the ACES meeting.
