Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. and Ohio U’s Cats Eye collaborate on new Rye Session IPA
Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. joined forces with the Cat’s Eye Saloon in Athens, Ohio to brew a Rye Session IPA which was released for Ohio Brew Week in July.
Cincinnati People can get a taste of the Rye Session IPA at the Exclusive Taproom Release on Friday August 11, 2017, 6 p.m. at the Malt House, 1621 Moore Street.
Cat’s Eye Saloon proprietor, John Ellis, will be present to talk about the brew along with Moerlein’s Brewmaster, Eric Baumann.
The exclusive brew, Cat’s Rye (Rye Session IPA), comes in at 4.7% ABV and has a 45 IBU. This beer utilizes Rye malt as a backbone and Denali and Centennial hops from the American Northwest. The brew is hoppy with an easy drinking body for the summer. Mango and predominately blueberry are present in the aroma with a dry clean finish.
