OTR 5K registration open for May 20 race and festivities
Registration Open for OTR 5K on May 20 - On-site registration is available at the newly renovated Central Parkway YMCA on Thursday, May 18 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, May 19 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. On-site registration will also be available Saturday morning beginning at 7:30 a.m., cash only.
The 11th annual Over-the-Rhine 5K Run/Walk, will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m. at Washington Park. Find more info at otr5k.com.
Proceeds from the OTR 5K support the business attraction and retention efforts of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce.
Following the 5K will be the all-day Summer Celebration party in Washington Park until 4 p.m., featuring the kick-off of the City Flea season. A Kids Race will be held for the little ones at 11 a.m. on the lawn, and The Play Library will host kids activities in Washington Park after the 5K.
This year, packet pickup will held at the newly renovated Central Parkway YMCA on Thursday, May 18 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, May 19, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Packet pickup also is available the morning of the event at 7:30 a.m. at the registration tents in Washington Park. On-site registration also will be available Saturday morning, cash only.
Taste of Belgium is a new partner of the OTR 5K this year and will provide mini waffles to each OTR 5K participant at the finish of the race.
Also on Friday, Cincy Red Bike, another new partner, is offering neighborhood bike tours at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Art on Vine will have vendors in Washington Park from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., and a live band will perform on the Deck from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
“We wanted to heighten the celebration of our neighborhood, and saw the opportunity to create a Friday night addition,” said Kelly Adamson, Executive Director of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber. “We are so grateful to have had such a large turnout of people who want to support the neighborhood’s progress through the event, so in turn, we wanted to provide the best experience possible.”
