Four Aces Guitar Fest brings Cincinnati Blues Rock Royalty to One Stage on Saturday
The four preeminent blues rock musicians based in the Cincinnati area will unite for one night on stage during the Four Aces Guitar Fest at the Madison Theatre on Saturday, October 20, 2018, 7 p.m.
The artists will share the stage at the Madison Theater in a unique format which will display their unparalleled blues guitar skills, playing their respective original music and some classic blues covers alongside one-another.
Blues and blues-rock have deep roots in Cincinnati dating back to the 1950’s when King Records was pumping out groundbreaking R&B and electric blues artists and tracks to the rest of the country.
The Four Aces are comprised of the following musicians: Dudley Taft, Jay Jesse Johnson, Sonny Moorman, and Johnny Fink. Each individually have played for years locally, nationally and internationally with their own individual bands – together, they form a supergroup of electric blues musicians carrying on a strong tradition of the artform in Cincinnati.

Who are the Four Aces?
Dudley Taftis a Cincinnati-native with more than 30 years playing with some of the biggest musicians on the biggest stages in the world. He started his original band with friend and future Phish frontman Trey Anastasio in 1990, before moving on to found Sweet Water, who toured with Candlebox and Alice in Chains. His solo career includes a Top-10 hit on the rock-radio charts and countless tours through the US and Europe. Taft’s music is heard today on all streaming platforms, in major feature films, and on Sirius XM Radio daily.
Jay Jesse Johnsonhas played with the likes of Aerosmith, Black Sabbath and Foghat in his 40-year guitar-playing career. He’s been named part of the “Next Generation of Blues Stars” by Blues Magazine and currently tours with his namesake band, the Jay Jesse Johnson Band.
Sonny Moormanhas headlined the blues stage at the Montreal Jazz Festival and was a finalist at the International Blues Challenge. His play combined with stellar vocals evokes the classic blues rock sounds of legends like Duane Allman and Freddy King.
Johnny Finkand his band The Intrusion have been playing the Cincinnati Blues scene for over 35 years. They were named the Top-8 in the world at the 2017 International Blues Challenge among other awards which have established the band as a favorite at almost every music establishment in the city.
