Cincinnati Bell presents “The Art of Songwriting: Songwriter Round” to support 2019 ArtsWave Campaign
Cincinnati Bell will present “The Art of Songwriting: Songwriter Round,” featuring four of Nashville’s hottest singer-songwriters, on Friday, Jan. 25 at The Redmoor in Mt. Lookout. Proceeds from the event will support this year’s ArtsWave campaign. Leigh Fox, President and CEO of Cincinnati Bell, is chair of the 2019 campaign.
The following singer-songwriters will be performing multiple songs:
Matt McGinn is a Nashville-based multi-platinum songwriter and producer with an award-winning music publishing powerhouse, SMACKSongs. The Virginia native has had songs recorded by artists including Kane Brown, Florida Georgia Line, Walker Hayes, Jake Owen, Carly Pearce, Michael Ray, and Cassadee Pope. Matt celebrated his first No. 1 in 2017 with Kane Brown’s triple-platinum hit, “What Ifs,” featuring Lauren Alaina, which spent five consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. He recently earned his second No. 1 with Kane Brown’s double-platinum two-week chart topper, “Heaven.”
Michigan native Joey Hyde moved to Nashville in 2006 to pursue a career as a musician. After years of extensive touring as a guitar player, Joey decided to switch his focus from playing to songwriting. Joey signed his first publishing deal with Sony/ATV in 2012, and since then has had songs recorded by Kid Rock, Jake Owen, Ryan Hurd, and The Swon Brothers.
Mike Walker was born in Clarksville, Tenn., and raised in Hartselle, Ala. He moved to Nashville in 2006 and started writing and playing mandolin with The Westbound Rangers in 2007. Mike is an uncommonly gifted writer/musician/performer who feels at home with many styles of music including country, bluegrass, pop, folk, and rock. He is an old soul with a fresh perspective. He signed his first publishing deal with HoriPro Entertainment Group in 2013. Mike is a co-writer on the current Rodney Atkins single “Caught Up In The Country.” He has also received cuts with artists Lewis Brice, Kree Harrison, Jackie Lee, Morgan Wallen, and Lee Brice.
Brett Tyler's talent as both a songwriter and producer has proven undeniable with his cuts. He landed two songs, “Sugar” and “Space” (which he also produced), on Maren Morris’ debut album, Hero. In addition, he’s landed cuts on albums by some of country music’s biggest acts including Chris Young, Joe Nichols, Kree Harrison, Chuck Wicks, Kimberly Kelly, Morgan Wallen's “Not Good At Not,” and “County Lines” recorded by Jimmie Allen.
In addition to performing, the artists will also discuss their songs, the meaning behind the lyrics, and what inspires them to write. Joey Hyde will host the event.
