Film Cincinnati Creates Hollywood Glamour for “Backlot” Celebration set for September 7

Film Cincinnati will transform an airport hangar into a working soundstage for the third annual “Backlot” gala, set for Saturday, September 7 from 7 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. at Waypoint Aviation, Lunken Airport.

This year’s theme is “Drop Dead Gorgeous” with dress ranging from Hollywood glamour to Zombie chic. The hangar will become a production soundstage complete with makeup and costume stations, autos from your favorite Cincinnati-made films and working sets.

“Events like ‘Backlot’ allow Film Cincinnati to continue its work to make our area a world-class destination for film and entertainment,” said Kristen Schlotman, executive director of Film Cincinnati. “What began as a celebration of our 30th anniversary three years ago is now an annual event to recognize the hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars the film industry adds to our economy each year.”

General admission to Backlot is $75 and includes the 7 p.m. red carpet arrival, food and entertainment and two drink tickets. VIP Admission includes a 6 p.m. early entrance with red carpet, VIP lounge and open bar. For tickets and more information, visit
