Jean-Robert Restaurants team up with Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. for Unique Pairings

Christian Moerlein and the Jean-Robert French Restaurant Group are excited to collaborate on exclusive menu items available at each of Jean-Robert’s restaurants.

Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. owner, Greg Hardman, says, “It is an honor to work with such talented chef’s to showcase our new spiced winter warmer. We are thrilled with this collaboration.”

Four of Jean-Robert’s eateries will be making a signature dish, which not only pairs with Moerlein ’77 Winter, but includes it in the recipe for the world class dishes. The chefs at Le Bar a Boeuf, French Crust, Jean-Robert’s Table, and Restaurant L will be crafting brand new recipes that include Moerlein’s ’77 Winter Spiced Winter Warmer in the ingredients.

“The Jean-Robert French Restaurant group and Christian Moerlein are both local businesses focused on flavor. We are very excited for this partnership and to create dishes as unique as the ’77 Winter Spiced Winter Warmer,” said Jean-Robert.

Moerlein chose to introduce Jean-Robert’s restaurants to cooking with the beer because of the distinctive flavor profile that ’77 Winter has. The new spiced winter warmer features the essence of Glayva, a Scottish liqueur, with a variety of spiced, Mediterranean tangerines, cinnamon, almonds, and honey. Coming in at 6.3% ABV and 27.5 IBUs, this beer features a strong malty backbone – full of nuttiness and nutmeg, with a slight note of orange aroma – due to the late boil addition of sweet orange peel. It has a medium mouth-feel and pours a solid brown. The flavor is dominated by almond, spice, and malty sweetness making it the perfect cooking companion.

Each restaurant will have its own take on integrating the new beer and catching the essence of its flavor profile. To get an exclusive peek at what each restaurant is up to, beer lovers and food lovers the same will be able to catch all the cooking on Christian Moerlein’s Instagram handle (@moerleinbeers) via live videos on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

The schedule for each restaurant’s live video today is as follows:

  • Jean-Robert’s Table – 1 p.m.
  • French Crust – 2 p.m.
  • Le Bar a Boeuf – 3 p.m.
  • Restaurant L – 4 p.m.

Additionally, each restaurant will be featuring the dish at different times as a special beside their usual menu.
