Finalists Named for Fiona “CINCINNATI Paints by Numbers” Mural

The five finalist designs have been selected for the ArtWorks “Cincinnati Paints by Numbers” mural project featuring the Cincinnati Zoo’s world-famous Nile hippo, Fiona and voting is now open.

More than 60 designs were submitted, with judges from ArtWorks, the Cincinnati Zoo and the Cincinnati Enquirer narrowing the submissions down to the five finalists, including Dick Close, Cincinnatus Kidd, OGRE, Lucie Rice, and Jessica Seta.

Voting is now open to choose the winning mural, with one vote a day allowed through May 21 at https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2018/05/10/mural-voting/594599002/.

“We were overwhelmed with the number of submissions we received, and it was difficult choosing these final five designs,” said Tamara Harkavy, CEO and artistic director of ArtWorks. “We feel that the remaining drawings accurately reflect how Fiona has captured the hearts of Cincinnatians, and people around the world.”

The winning design will be announced May 25 and the mural will go up this summer at 910 Race Street. As part of the “Cincinnati Paints by Numbers” project, the public is invited to help paint the mural.
