Adventure awaits in Cincinnati Ballet’s Family Series: Aladdin

Cincinnati Ballet’s hugely popular Family Series returns for its second season with an all-new production of Aladdin. The kid-friendly ballet features the Cincinnati Ballet Second Company CB2 dancers, with students from Cincinnati Ballet’s Professional Training Division and Otto M. Budig Academy. Experience Family Series: Aladdin at the Aronoff Center for eight performances March 30 to April 7, and a special sensory-friendly performance on Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 AM.

Cincinnati Ballet’s Family Series is the perfect introduction to ballet for audiences of all ages, with dazzling costumes and sets, and guided narration, so that even the youngest kiddos in the family can understand the story being told on stage.

Also don’t forget to get to the show EARLY! The Aronoff Center lobby will be transformed into a scene from Arabian Nights, with fun, interactive activities designed to engage children with a special focus on learning more about dance, costumes, and storytelling.  The purpose is to make the entire ballet-going experience one that is compelling and informative for even the youngest of audience members.

Family Series: Aladdin follows the familiar tale of a poor young boy who strives to win the love of a beautiful princess while spoiling the plans of an evil magician. With a huge cast of colorful characters, including monkeys, tigers and even a silly camel, the show is engaging for the whole family. The epic battle between Aladdin and the evil Sorcerer aboard two magic carpets can’t be missed!

Cincinnati Ballet is also proud to continue its sensory-friendly offerings with this production of Family Series: Aladdin. The 10:30 AM performance on Sunday, March 31st is designed to create an experience that is welcoming and inviting to any patron or child with sensory sensitivities or specific needs. Accommodations include gentle lighting and sound, increased staffing with on-hand specialists, and a flexible, open-door theater environment with designated spaces where parents and children can take a break from the performance.

Tickets start at just $20.
