Soccer Legend Abby Wambach visits Cincinnati for the Women’s Fund Event

Recently retired international soccer legend Abby Wambach was in Cincinnati on Saturday, March 25, where she hosted the Push Kick Soccer Expo, a clinic for children aged 6-12 that was held at Gettler Stadium on the University of Cincinnati campus as part of The Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation's A Conversation With Abby Wambach event.

Wambach greeted 200 children and shared several topics with them, including ways soccer and life parallel one another and things they can do to not only be better players, but better people. Wambach joined in with each of the smaller groups, stopping to talk to the children and posing for pictures throughout the clinic.

Later in the day, she delivered the keynote address at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center where more than 600 were in attendance.

Since 2012, the Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation has held this signature event to celebrate Women's History Month and has invited a female history maker to speak to the group.
