Inaugural PIGGY awards celebrated Flying Pig Marathon’s 20th Anniversary

The Flying Pig Marathon held the inaugural PIGGY awards presented by P&G last Thursday evening at the Aronoff Center for the Performing Arts to pay tribute to those who have made the race successful over the last 20 years.

More than 1,000 people attended the PIGGYs hosted by WLWT’s Mike Dardis and Sheree Paolello and broadcast live on WLWT News 5. Streakers or those 86 runners who are competing in their 20th consecutive Flying Pig Marathon were honored by the crowd as they marched into the theatre.

PIGGY awards were presented to:

  • Bob Coughlin, Founder of the Flying Pig Marathon and CEO of Paycor
  • Dave McGillivray, Race Director of the Boston Marathon
  • Sgt. Greg Lewton, Cincinnati Police Department
  • Dr. Jon Divine, UC Health and Medical Director of the Flying Pig Marathon
  • Barbara Hauser, The Procter & Gamble Company
  • Iris Simpson Bush, Flying Pig Marathon Executive Director since 2002
  • Branden Frantz, General Manager of WLWT News 5

20th Anniversary commemorative race bibs were presented to:

  • Alison Delgado, Flying Pig Marathon champion in 2005
  • Harvey Lewis, Flying Pig Marathon Streaker (will have run all 20 marathons) and past champion of Badwater
  • Mary Enzweiler, Former Volunteer Director and current Course Experience Director of the Flying Pig Marathon
  • Diego Ramirez, a young man battling Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Kerry Lee. Flying Pig Marathon champion in 2017
  • T.J. Lentz, Flying Pig Marathon champion in 2004
