Cincinnati Ballet’s annual Nutcracker in July Sale returns July 20–26, giving holiday planners, ballet lovers and anyone ready for a break from the summer heat the chance to save on select performances of “The Nutcracker,” presented by Sheakley Family.

During the limited-time sale, you can buy one ticket and get a second ticket half off. Consider it your reward for thinking about December while everyone else is still trying to remember where they left the sunscreen.

For generations of Cincinnati families, the holiday season isn’t the same without The Nutcracker. Music Hall transforms into a winter wonderland filled with dancing snowflakes, mischievous mice, dazzling costumes and, of course, the Sugar Plum Fairy. For some families, it’s a tradition passed from one generation to the next. For others, this December will be the year they experience the magic for the first time.

Either way, July is a surprisingly good time to make those holiday plans.

Buying tickets now means more time to choose the performance and seats that work best for your family. It also means one less thing to squeeze between decorating, shopping, school concerts, office parties and everything else that somehow lands on the December calendar.

The sale is also a good excuse to gather your favorite people. Plan a family outing, surprise the grandparents, start a new tradition with friends or give yourself an early holiday gift. The mice, snowflakes and Sugar Plum Fairy will take care of the rest.
