Summerfair Cincinnati Poster Competition
Interested in submitting a design for the 2024 poster competition?
Poster objectives:
To inform the public about Summerfair; including mandatory information specified in the competition rules
To convey that Summerfair is Cincinnati’s premier annual celebration of art and artists
To provide a marketing tool that promotes the event
While Summerfair is held at Coney Island (east of downtown Cincinnati), Summerfair is a non-profit organization that is NOT affiliated with Coney’s day-to-day park or pool venue, therefore, no images related to Coney, should be included in the design.
Winning artist receives $3,000.
For details and to submit, visit www.summerfair.org/poster-competition.
Odds are you’ve seen one of Summerfair’s iconic posters. You may even have a one or two in your own home.
Each year, Summerfair commissions an artist to create a new poster exclusively for the current year. The poster serves as the cornerstone of the marketing campaign and is destined to become a collector’s item.
Because of that, the poster’s design has to be adaptable for multiple uses, including the billboards, programs, T-shirts, tote bags and other merchandise.
Judges will review all poster entries in January and choose a few entries to present to Summerfair’s members, who then vote on the winning design. The screening committee is composed of selected Summerfair Cincinnati members and professionals in the art community.
