Better Latte Than Never

Urbana Cafe has a new home at the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) and is wasting no time exploring the more artistic side of coffee making.

This Saturday, April 18, from 7 to 10 p.m., Urbana is holding a latte art competition. Latte art highlights artistic expression, challenging barista in an on-demand performance, according to the The World Latte Art Championship.

Saturday’s event will be divided into two groups, Latte Art Dairy and Latte Art Oat. Each category will have eight competitors, with the Dairy winner and the Oat winner facing off against one another for great prizes and bragging rights.

The best part – admission is free for spectators. Baristas are invited to sign up and show their skills, for a $10 entry fee.
