Pitch Forward
J.B. Kropp has a lot going on heading into the tenth StartupCincy Week.
Known as one of the pioneers of the Cincinnati startup ecosystem, Kropp has had huge impact locally as a founder since. Since 2024 he has been the CEO of Cintrifuse, the OTR-based entrepreneurship hub.
Over the years, Kropp has co-founded the Brandery and Main Street Ventures, and was co-manager of Vine St. Ventures, He has also served in strategic and operational leadership roles at Gorilla Glue, Scripps, and Twitter.
StartupCincy Week 2026 marks a decade of backing founders who refused to play it safe, building companies that didn't ask permission, and proving Cincinnati is where bold bets belong. Cintrifuse is the chair of StartupCincy, a coalition of entrepreneurs and the organizations that serve them.
While down time may be in short supply at the moment, Kropp shares what he’s doing when he’s not funding the future of Cincy business,

Words of Advice: “Things may come to those that wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.”
As we all have so much to do and our attention spans seem to be getting smaller and smaller, we wonder what local folks you obsessed with at the moment.
“Current Events” is a feature where we ask Cincinnati People about their current favorite places and things, plus how they’re enjoying spending their time right now. And of course, what's their go-to advice to share with others.
