Local filmmaker Yemi Oyediran is no stranger to recognition for his documentary “King of Them All: The Story of King Records”

Upon its PBS debut, “King of Them All” received strong critical response, with “The Wall Street Journal” naming the film among the top films upon its debut, along with additional recognition from outlets including “Billboard” for its examination of music history and cultural impact.

This weekend, Oyediran is nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Documentary (Television or Film).

The 57th NAACP Image Awards air live on BET and simulcast on CBS on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
